The Pride of Connecticut is UConn's largest student organization! With more than 100 majors and marchers from all backgrounds—from those who have marched drum corps to those who've never marched before at all—there is a home for YOU in the UCMB.
UCMB Member Information
With more than 300 members representing more than 100 majors, the UConn Marching Band is academically diverse. Students form close relationships within their sections and across major areas of study, and often report a higher GPA in the fall than in the spring due to their time management. Additionally, while many students who join the UCMB have some prior marching experience (high school and/or drum corps), 25% of the band had no pre-UConn marching experience!
Regardless of your marching/playing experience level, our student leaders and expert instructors are prepared to assist you with one-on-one mentorship every step of the way. Marching band members move into their dorms a week earlier than the rest of campus. During "Preseason," members learn and refine the UCMB's musical and marching style taught by student leaders and staff. Performances in the fall include home football games, high school marching band exhibitions, and parades. Additional performances may include away football games, ceremonies, and other special events. The staff build the schedule with your academic career in mind, careful to ensure you have time to keep up with your studies and maintain participation in other organizations and social events.
