Athletic Bands

Kyle Korb is the Program Assistant and Visual Instructor with the University of Connecticut Athletic Bands Program. Kyle Korb began his instructional experiences in the marching arts as the visual caption head for Francis T. Maloney High School (Meriden, CT), assisting with all aspects of technique, visual design, and general effect. Korb marched with the Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps from 2018-2019, and returned as a visual technician for the 2022 season. An instructor with the George N. Parks Drum Major Academy, Korb has led workshops, master classes, and seminars for student leaders from across the country.

In his current role as Program Assistant, Korb is responsible for all matters related to the operational, logistical, and administrative areas of the Athletic Bands program. A prolific arranger, Korb has designed and presented numerous works performed at football, basketball, and hockey games. Korb’s instructional role with the UConn Marching Band includes teaching and quality control for all marching-related matters, visual design, and choreography. Korb also assists with all areas of leadership training, including conducting technique, philosophy of leadership, and organizational management.

Korb received his MA in Curriculum and Instruction, BA in Music, BS in Music Education, and BA in Mathematics from the University of Connecticut. Additionally, Korb holds a CT K-12 teaching license in music education. Previously, Korb served as Graduate Director Intern, conducting the pep bands, instructing the marching band, and coordinating logistics. As a member of the UCMB, Korb served as drum major, vice president, tenor saxophone section leader, and coordinated the UCMB’s high school outreach initiatives. Korb is an alumnus Brother of Kappa Kappa Psi and holds memberships in the College Band Directors National Association and Connecticut Music Educators Association.
