When the UCMB performance season ends, the Winter Guard season begins.

Many of the members of the UCMB are also members of the winter guard here at UConn. The UConn Winter Guard (UCWG) competes in local circuits such as USBands and Musical Arts Conference (MAC) during the winter season. Unlike the outdoor marching band season, winter guard is performed indoors, usually in a gymnasium or an indoor arena. In addition, these shows are performed to prerecorded music rather than a live marching band.
